Scott Barnes BIO!

Bio
Determined to fulfill his dream to be a painter, Scott Barnes attended both the Center for Creative Studies outside of Detroit and New York's prestigious Parsons School of Design. Upon graduation, Barnes began to assist a fellow artist on fashion photography shoots, where he used his canvas-painting skills to apply makeup to model's faces. He quickly became one of the most sought after makeup artists in the industry.

Barnes's successful career as a makeup artist took him around the world, inspiring him to look beyond the conventional methods of color, contour, light and line. Years later, international beauty guru Shu Uemura selected Barnes to remake and update his Atelier Made line, which was overwhelmingly received by editors, celebrities and the consumer market. Following his success with Shu Uemura and after years of catering to celebrities and models, Barnes launched his own 21-piece color cosmetic line - Scott Barnes Cosmetics - on QVC in April 2004. Five months later, Barnes launched 130 products at Holt Renfrew in Canada and at select boutiques and Saks Fifth Avenue stores in the U.S and in early 2005 his line spread to both Europe and Australia. The immense success of his line earned him the "newcomer of the Year" award from Women's Wear Daily. He was also a finalist for the Fashion Group International's "Rising Star" award.

International celebrities in the music, film and television industries compete for Barnes's time, while celebrated photographers utilize Scott's vision for their editorial and advertising campaigns. His work has been published on leading magazine covers, including Harper's Bazaar, In Style, Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone and Marie Claire. And he has appeared on top national and regional television programs, including Oprah, Extra, Access Hollywood and Good Day LA. Currently Scott divides his time living in New York City and Los Angeles.

Scott's work with Jennifer Lopez started a cosmetics revolution and a new look was born: monochromatic, with bronzed skin and pale lips. The Glow exuded both a natural and yet highly-polished radiance---one that could be felt from the inside and shining out. This signature look became known as "lit from within" and launched my most popular beauty product: the phenomenal bestseller Body Bling bronzer.

Hi Scott: I was wondering if you know of any line of makeup which isn't as expensive as Dior or Mac but is quite as good? Also, I know Avon has been in for a long while, do you think this line is good? Lee Drillman

Men typically look for texture, packaging and scent when selecting their products. M-61 Skincare is a highly technical, natural cosmetic line we created. We find its sleek identity and efficient ingredients appeal strongly to both men and women.
